BBL Drizzy is the original comedy song written by King Willonius (Willonius Hatcher), with AI-generated music and vocals. Released in April 2024, it became part of the Drake–Kendrick Lamar cultural moment after Metro Boomin sampled it.

The creative approach

The track pairs a comic premise with the sound of a vintage soul record. As described in his TIME profile, King Willonius experimented with more than a hundred versions across different genres before arriving at the song.

The cultural response

Listeners made their own remixes, performances and interpretations. TIME included King Willonius in its 2024 TIME100 AI list, documenting the song’s reach and his approach to creative tools.
